As award-winning, singer Tuface Idibia, exits the singles club, the world is watching the lips of some other ‘eligible’ artistes. Singer Innocent Idibia, aka Tuface, will happily tie the nuptial knots with his heartthrob of many years, Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay in Dubai on Saturday (tomorrow).

For the couple, who are both stars in their own rights, the much-vaunted wedding is the climax of a relationship that has somewhat managed to survive many storms and crises. Before Tuface made the all-important decision to walk down the aisle with Annie, many music fans had literally concluded that he was not marriageable. With about five children from three women, most single ladies had stopped dreaming of grabbing him for keeps.
For a while, the talented singer was the butt of many jokes rolling down the lips of every stand-up comedian in the country. Some of them even referred to him by funny pseudonyms. They called him ‘Father Abraham’. But all that now belongs to the past.
As the hour draws near, Tuface and his bride will be counting their blessings and looking forward to a future filled with marital bliss. Unfortunately the same cannot yet be said about his colleagues who have yet to summon the courage to quit bachelorhood.Interestingly some of these artistes are currently walking the same path that Tuface has just abandoned. RE: My Second Marriage is a Compensation from God

Emotionally bound and conscience trapped

It is common place that the best way to swing pendulums from one marriage to another and keep going with a broadly expressed smile that hides under the disguise of happiness is to become a Celeb. Going by the rate at which Nigerian socialites jump from one bed to another under the pretence of pursuit for happiness and someone to “love”, I can only but say that some role models are not worth having.

I want to quickly build on a role and pattern of a known actress in the emerging Western-Nigeria movie industry. She is someone we all know, and am sure several boarding (and wannabe) actors and actresses would have mirrored and patterned their lives and careers unto.

It is nothing but shame for a woman to like, admire, crush, fall in love and marry another woman’s husband; and a greater gross disgrace to not only admit the act but also to add that marriage the said man is a compensation from God after the first marriage failed. But the question the woman has failed to ask herself is; if this second marriage (which she claims is a compensation from God) fails and the need arises for her to shift to a third, will it still be a compensation from God?

And what example will she be making for her children to model by engaging in the act act and practice of husband snatching. The children might innocently agree with their mother now because she would only explain to them the perspective that makes the man not worthy to be their father, and hence the reason why he is worthy to be tagged ‘ex-husband’. No wonder mother earth differentiates a woman from a wife, and a wife from a mother.

And now, what do you call a man who for self gratifying and ego-centred reasons leaves his original wife with no prior notice or legal documents, requesting or seeking a divorce  to marry another woman. And the height of the annoyance, he claims 65 pastors told him to marry the voluptuously-endowed actress, that it was never his plans to do so. It was also confirmed by Bride Number 2 (Foluke Daramola) that Bride Number One has not been divorced. And she still went ahead to join the list is an imperative proof that she has a hand in the failed state of things between Bride Number One and her husband

There’s been several reactions and response to this modern-day sacrilege committed by both Foluke Daramola and Kayode Salako. I have  just three to give and that will be all for the mean time,

  1. Any man who leaves his first love and mother of his children for another woman does not deserve to be called a husband by the new woman or father by his children. He has by so doing said there is no law that bind one man to his wife and children i.e. you can walk-out any relationship when you are tired (when you are tired of fried rice, you can shift your curve to jollof rice)
  2. A man who walks out of his first marriage is capable of making the second wife miserable because his motives are egocentric. He does not care who is hurt so long as life goes on for him
  3. In life, there is a law described as The Law of Compensation (Karma). One of the law’s features states that ‘the treatment you met to others will be meted unto you, several times more.

I would have love us to also cross-examine another character in this conception of emotional-matrimonial-misplaced-priority, but I would leave hers till I very verify my claims and findings further.

Till then… This is my confession.
