“If you marry any man who cannot take care of your financial burden, then what is the essence of marrying that person?”
People in the know, having heard such utterances coming from the mother of two, they criticised her and said she is not qualified to be a role model to the emerging generation.
She gave this as a warning, according to her, to the ladies out there who are yet to pick their spouse. ” Don’t marry a man that can not take care of your financial needs,” Foluke concluded.
Its so impeccable to know that we live in a time when so much caution is thrown to the wind and people no longer give a hoot about the effect from a wrongly passed message.
I really think our entertainment sector needs a body that would checkmate how so-called celebs pass messages.
The Vatican on Saturday installed a special chimney on the Sistine Chapel from which white smoke will signal the election of a new pope as cardinals prepare for the historic vote next week after Benedict XVI’s resignation.
Of course, its a good thing to always anticipate change before it happens i.e. good to stay ahead of the trend. But it now turns foolishness when you see a burning fire and instead of avoiding a ‘banana-skin’ situation then dive with a broad smile into it. This illustration is what best describes the actions of Dance Hall artiste, Alkaline.
I can not but describe this notion as nothing but extremely dangerous – both to health, career and well-being.
I will prefer that Lil-Wayne continues with tattoos-on-tattoos (even on his butt if he want to) rather than go as far as impair the sight for the sake of fame and fortune. This boy has gone way too far!!!
Which brings me to my next, must you wear tattoo to make an impression or statement?
The story is that of a strange love, such that is uncommon. For anyone that heard of a man shooting his wife in the course of a quarrel, the reaction would be that such an act should be punished.
But it sounds strange to hear that the woman would still profess love for such a person or even plead for him at the police station, despite sustaining injuries from the shot fired by the husband for whom she was carrying a second child.
That was the drama that played out between a couple recently at Apete community, Ibadan. The husband, Wasiu Waheed (35), reportedly had a quarrel with his wife and when he saw that he could not silence his wife’s caustic tongue, he decided to use a weapon that would have silenced the woman forever, save for providence. A woman from Carlifonia is suing a Christian school after her employer asked point-blank if she was pregnant, then fired her.
Teri James, 29, was unmarried when she was hired as a financial aid specialist at San Diego Christian College, according to her lawyer. The woman desperately needed a job, so she signed a contract and agreed to abide by the school’s moral codes, which include abstaining from premarital sex. She said she is humiliated by her dismissal — especially after the school offered her boyfriend a job.
The El Cajon, Calif. resident had been working at the college for two years. The woman signed the agreement before she became pregnant. James claims that the school knew that her boyfriend — whom she later married — had also engaged in premarital sex.
Her husband didn’t take the job. It was James who received the axe. She had to vacate the building right after the meeting with her supervisor.
“I had to go into the office with all of my co-workers and say I’m leaving,” James told NBC’s “Today.” “I never came back so I don’t know what my co-workers thought, but for me, it was humiliating. I felt like I was in trouble.”
High-profile women’s rights attorney Gloria Allred signed on to the case, filing a lawsuit in San Diego County’s superior court. Although the college has not yet commented, James’ termination letter states that the woman was fired for engaging in activity “that does not build up the college’s mission.”
In the college’s “community covenant,” employees and students agree to stay away from drugs, alcohol and tobacco. They are also required to abstain from “abusive anger, malice, jealousy, lust, sexually immoral behavior including premarital sex, adultery, pornography and homosexuality,” according to Allred’s statement.
“It does not say that you will be fired if you do not comply,” Allred told “Today.”
The lawyer said the college will argue that since it is a Christian organization, it has the right to fire James. But Allred will argue that the termination is illegal because the school is a business.
James, who identifies as a Christian, called the school’s actions “hurtful and un-Christ like.”
“I was unmarried, pregnant and they took away my livelihood,” James said in a statement. “San Diego Christian College did not show any mercy or grace towards me.”

About 100 people were witness to a most unusual (and certainly bizarre) wedding at the weekend.
The bride was 61 years old and the groom was an eight-year-old boy! Both families were present at the wedding of Sanele Masilela (8) and Helen Shabangu (61) and the bride’s husband and her five children were also at the wedding in Zimbabwe.
The boy’s aunt, Patience Masilela (46), explained why the wedding took place.
She said: “The boy was named after his late grandfather who never had a white wedding, so the ancestors told the boy to get married and he chose Helen to be his bride. The family took his desire to get married very seriously. They paid for the bride in March last year and spent a lot on the wedding because they believed it was what the ancestors wanted.” Continue reading
